Hello friends of digital journalism! My name is Katie Blais and I am in my final year at state (crazy how the time flies). With graduation approaching, I've been doing a lot of thinking about what my next steps may look like. When it comes to career aspirations, I know one thing: I want to absolutely love what I do.
I know that I love storytelling. Whether it be through written work, documentaries and podcasts, or photography, I love connecting creative mediums with a powerful story. After graduation, I hope to pursue a career that allows for these connections to be made in my work on a daily basis. I'm interested in working in the non-profit space as well as for companies making change and doing good in their communities.
In digital journalism this semester, I am excited to hone in on my writing skills and develop my website into a portfolio I am proud of by the time 2026 rolls around (and I start my job hunt).
